Wharton 5K - Philadelphia
The Wharton 5K is a 5-kilometer road race held on April 19, 2026, at Shoemaker Green on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The event is organized by the Wharton Council and the Wharton Roadrunners and is presented as the 14th Annual Wharton 5K. It is described as the University of Pennsylvania’s largest 5K event.
The race benefits Kesem, an organization that creates experiences and a lasting community to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. The event aims to bring together students, staff, and community members in support of that cause.
Awards are given to the top three overall finishers for male and female divisions. Special awards include the fastest team and the most spirited team. The fastest team is determined by the lowest aggregate time of a team’s five fastest runners, male or female. Teams with at least five participants are entered into a raffle for gift cards and prizes.
Amenities listed for the event include a free t-shirt for the first 550 entrants, a post-race festival, snacks, giveaways, and additional on-site offerings. Registration is noted to open January 30, 2026, and the listed entry fee for the event is $18. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
