Event Overview
The Whale Walk and Run is an annual event, with the 38th edition scheduled for March 21, 2026. It takes place in Fort Bragg, California. The event is organized by Soroptimist International of Fort Bragg. Proceeds from the event support local community programs. Packet pickup occurs on Friday, March 20, and on race day morning at Race Headquarters.
Distances and Fees
The event offers multiple distances for running and walking:

- Fun Walk (non-competitive)
- Kiddie Race for children under 10
Early registration fees are available until February 28. After March 1, fees increase. Fees for adults are $45/$55 for the runs and $35/$45 for the Fun Walk. Youth under 16 pay $20/$30, and the Kiddie Race is $10/$20.
Schedule and Details
The starting times are staggered for different events:
- Half Marathon starts at 7:30 AM.
- Kiddie Race starts at 7:45 AM.
- 10K Run starts at 8:00 AM.
- 5K Run and Fun Walk start at 8:30 AM.
Participants receive a bib and a t-shirt upon in-person check-in at packet pickup. Additional shirts, raffle tickets, and merchandise are for sale on-site.
