WGPAL Donut Dash 5K
The WGPAL Donut Dash is a 5K run/walk held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Downtown Winter Garden, Florida. The event includes an in-person WGPAL Donut Dash 5K Run/Walk and a VIRTUAL 5K (remote participation). The in-person entry fee is $35; the virtual entry fee is $50. The virtual 5K is currently full. The in-person event listing shows 349 spots remaining and a price increase scheduled after March 23, 2026.
Format, awards and charity
The course passes through historic neighborhoods and along Lake Apopka. There are three "donut zones" at the 1-mile, 2-mile and 3-mile marks. Every donut eaten in a donut zone reduces a runner's final time by 30 seconds. Participants who eat more than 12 donuts receive an additional bonus of 1 minute off per donut over 12. All donuts must be finished in the donut zones. All registered participants receive a race medal. Additional medals are provided for first and second place in each age category (male and female) and for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall (male and female). There is also a prize for best donut costume. Live music and sponsor tents are part of the event.
Logistics
Packet pick-up is scheduled Friday, November 6, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Winter Garden Police Department, 110 Henderson St., Winter Garden, FL. Race-day activities take place at Newton Park, 1 Surprise Drive, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Each adult entry includes one free child entry into the kids fun run. The event benefits the Winter Garden Police Athletic League, which runs a free eight-week summer camp for 140 children and a Holiday Gifts for Kids Program serving about 400 local children.
