Event Details

The WGPAL Donut Dash 5K takes place in historic Downtown Winter Garden, Florida. The route goes through local neighborhoods and near Lake Apopka.

Unique Format

Participants can run the event as a regular 5K. Alternatively, there is an option to eat donuts during the run to reduce the final recorded time. Three "donut zones" are located at the 1-mile, 2-mile, and 3-mile marks of the course. Each donut eaten in a zone reduces the final time by 30 seconds. Eating 12 or more donuts provides an additional time bonus.

Beneficiary

The event supports the Winter Garden Police Athletic League (PAL). PAL programs include a free eight-week summer camp for 140 children and a holiday gifts program for approximately 400 local children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Additional Features

A kids' fun run is included with each adult registration.
There is a prize for the best donut-themed costume.
Live music and sponsor tents are present.
All registered participants receive a race medal. Additional medals are awarded to top finishers in various categories.
Race-day registration is available if the event is not sold out.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Winter Garden Police Department and on race morning at Newton Park (1 Surprise Drive).
