Wettlauf 5K
The Wettlauf 5K is an athletic event held in Jasper, Indiana, as part of the four-day Jasper Strassenfest. This German heritage festival features various food booths, rides, and competitions. The race consists of two main categories:
- Wettlauf 5K Run
- Wettlauf 5K Walk Only (untimed)
The course takes place on rolling, paved city streets. The route is well-marked and includes water stations and mile splits. Registered participants receive a race t-shirt while supplies last. After completing the course, attendees have access to refreshments such as fruit and water.
For the 5K Run, external timing services are utilized to provide results. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in several age divisions. These divisions range from age 10 and under up to 70 and over.
The event starts on Main Street, located between 8th and 9th Street. Participants can pick up their race packets, including bibs and shirts, on the day before the event at the Bosco House or at the start line on the morning of the race.
