Westview Arbor Day 5k/10k Run and Walk

Westview High School is hosting a 5k and 10k run and walk on April 26, 2026, at Cunningham Lake in Omaha, NE. The event start and finish area is at Entrance 1, accessed from 8965 State Street, Omaha, NE 68122.

The event program includes family activities such as face painting and cornhole. Each registrant will receive a swag bag that contains a race shirt, seed packets, and a tree sapling provided by the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. HyVee will provide donuts and bananas for participants. All registrants will receive a Westview Arbor Day t-shirt.

Race winners will earn the opportunity to plant a celebratory tree in the Westview High School Arboretum. Westview High School students will work with the University of Nebraska Omaha College of Sports Medicine and Biomechanics and Makovicka Physical Therapy to lead stretching sessions and to collect activity and heart rate data from willing participants.
