The course starts and finishes at Entrance 1 at Cunningham Lake, accessed from 8965 State Street, Omaha, NE 68122. Winners will earn the opportunity to plant a celebratory tree in the Westview High School Arboretum. All registrants receive a free event t-shirt and a swag bag that includes a race shirt, seed packets, and a tree sapling provided by the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.
Activities and partners
The event includes family activities such as face painting and cornhole. HyVee will provide donuts and bananas for participants. Westview High School students will work with the University of Nebraska Omaha College of Sports Medicine and Biomechanics and Makovicka Physical Therapy to lead stretching sessions and to collect activity and heart rate data from willing participants.
