About the race
The Westport Road Runners Summer Series is a set of ten progressively longer road races held at multiple town locations in Westport. Registration is handled online at RunSignUp with a fee of $100 for the ten-race Series or $15 per individual race. Prize T-shirts are reserved for the top three men and top three women who have not already won; those shirts are available for pick up at the Recreation Department office the following Monday.
Races take place at sites around town, including Longshore, Compo Beach, Burying Hill Beach and Staples High School. The series uses grand prix scoring with divisions by age for men and women: Junior (19 and younger), Open (20 through 29), Sub-Masters (30 through 39), Masters (40 through 49), Grand Masters (50 through 59), Veterans (60 through 69) and Grand Veterans (70 and older).

One course description for the Longshore 2.2 mile race: from Longshore Club Park access the route proceeds through the parking lot and access road past the cabin, takes a sharp left on the middle road, exits to South Compo Road, returns on the Longshore entrance road and finishes near the north edge of the transformer pad by the pavilion traffic circle lot. Directions from Interstate 95 note taking Exit 18, following Greens Farms Road and turning onto Compo Road South to reach Longshore Club Park.
