Event
The 40th Weston Creek Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 15 March 2026 at Black Mountain Peninsula, Garryowen Drive, Acton ACT, Australia. The event includes two distances:
- Half marathon
- 10 km community fun run
Registration opens 1 October 2025. Entry fees increase in stages: early, mid and late periods. Early prices listed are $60 for the half marathon and $30 for the 10 km, with higher mid and late fees thereafter. Relay teams of two or three pay a flat fee of $90 per team. Certain club members are eligible for a $10 discount during a specified period.
Race details and logistics
The course is an out-and-back route on bike paths with views of Lake Burley Griffin and no road crossings. There will be two water stations on course, and drinks plus limited fruit at the finish area. A commemorative medal has been minted for the half marathon and will be awarded to the first 200 half marathon finishers. Podium awards, vouchers and random prize draws will be presented at a formal presentation after the event; uncollected medals and vouchers may be picked up from the Runners Shop in Colbee Court, Phillip.
Relay runners use a baton with an electronic chip instead of an e-bib. Changeover points: for three-person teams at about 7 km and 14 km (near the Cotter Road Bridge) and for two-person teams at the 11.1 km turnaround. Race bibs may be collected from the Runners Shop (Colbee Court, Phillip) between Thursday 12 March and Saturday 14 March, or on race morning at the start area near the main toilet block.
