Event overview
The 40th Weston Creek Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 15 March 2026 at Black Mountain Peninsula, Garryowen Drive, Acton ACT, Australia. The event offers the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km Community Run
The course is an out-and-back route from Black Mountain Peninsula that uses bike paths with views of Lake Burley Griffin and does not require road crossings. There are two water stations on the course. The finish area is adjacent to the presentation area near the start, and drinks and limited fruit will be available there.
Race information
A commemorative medal has been minted for the half marathon and will be awarded to the first 200 half marathon finishers. Canberra Redbacks medals and Runners Shop gift vouchers will be awarded to the first three males and females in both the half marathon and the 10 km. The first male and first female in the half marathon will receive a keepsake trophy and have their names engraved on a perpetual trophy. Masters age-group winners also receive vouchers and medals. There will be random pre-drawn barrel draws with gift vouchers and other prizes.
Relay teams of two or three may enter the half marathon for a set fee of $90 per team. Relay teams use a baton with an electronic chip and hand it to the next runner at designated changeover points - for three-person teams the 7 km and 14 km marks, and for two-person teams the 11.1 km turnaround. There is a completion time limit of 3 hours 30 minutes. Race Roster registration opens 1 October 2025. Bibs may be collected from the Runners Shop in Colbee Court, Phillip, in the days before the event or at the race start area on race morning.
