About the race
The Hybrid 24H Backyard Ultra is an offroad timed event held at Stromlo Forest Park, ACT, from 5 December to 6 December 2026. The format requires competitors to complete repeated laps of a measured course; each lap is 6.71 km long and must be finished within one hour. After each lap runners must be ready to begin the next lap on the hour; failing to complete a lap within one hour or failing to be ready to start the next lap on time results in a DNF.
This event is a modified Backyard Ultra limited to a 24 hour duration. Any runners remaining at the end of 24 hours (24 laps, equivalent to 100 miles) will be ranked by the sum of their 24 lap completion times, with lower total time giving a higher placing. A GPX file for the course will be published once measurements are validated, with publication likely during October.
