Westford Turkey Trot
The Westford Turkey Trot is an annual road race held on country dirt roads near Westford Elementary School, 146 Brookside Road, Westford, VT. The event dates back to the 1990s and directs its proceeds to support children and families of Westford. The 2026 edition will also help purchase a new community ice rink.
Distances offered:
- Tot Trot 100-yard event for ages 1 to 4
- 3K 1.71 miles with 163 ft elevation gain
- 10K 6.2 miles with 477 ft elevation gain
Both the 3K and 10K follow defined out-and-back and loop roads beginning and ending near the school entrance. The 3K and 10K include timed and non-timed entry options; winners by male and female age categories will be recognized for each race. Race day registration and packet pickup take place in the school gym. Post-race concessions are available in the gym and a community raffle offers items such as handmade jewelry, winter hats, gift cards, maple syrup, and crafts; all participants are entered in the raffle.
The event is organized by Westford Recreation and supported by community volunteers. Volunteers and raffle donations are welcomed to help run the event and support its charitable goals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
