Westerwood 5K
The Westerwood 5K is a community running event held in the Westerwood neighborhood of Greensboro, North Carolina, with start and finish at the Double Oaks house on the National Register of Historic Places. The course passes local landmarks including the mural of actress Madhubala, Guilford County’s oldest house, the Fairmont Street bridge, the Westerwood roundabout, and the Lake Daniel Greenway.
The event offers a 5K running category plus chariot entries divided into chariot runner and chariot rider roles. Registration opens 30 April 2026. Main 5K entries have a fee of $30 and close 30 May 2026; chariot rider registration is listed with no fee and remains open through 8 November 2026. Registrations made by 9 October 2026 are guaranteed a Westerwood 5K t-shirt (long sleeve option) and a customizable bib with a name.
On-course services include water stops approximately at miles 1 and 2 and water at the finish line. There will be music at the start line and along the course, on-course displays and signs, and a post-race party with chili, bread, and a beer or beverage. Awards will be presented for top overall, masters, and age group finishers, as well as for top chariot racers. Packet pickup is available the day before at Fleet Feet and on race day at Double Oaks house; teams of 10 or more that meet the October 25 deadline are allocated a labeled tent and pre-packed packets.
