About the race
The Wester Hailes Fun Run is a community running event held in Wester Hailes with the start and finish at Clovenstone Community Centre, Edinburgh EH14 3EY. The route is approximately 5k and follows a circuit around the Wester Hailes area. The event is organised by the Wester Hailes Fun Run Planning Group, a partnership of local organisations and residents that includes Prospect Community Housing, The Health Agency, Clovenstone Community Centre, Harmeny Athletics Club, City of Edinburgh Council, Wester Hailes Growing Communities, Active Schools, Wester Hailes Community Trust, Community Wellbeing Collective and WHALE Arts. The 2026 event is supported by a grant from the City of Edinburgh Council Sports Event Fund.
All ages may take part; participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and whose identity is recorded at registration. The route does not meet the measurement standard for an official Scottish Athletics course and therefore will not count as a personal best for Scottish Athletics members. Personal data provided for registration is processed by Prospect Community Housing to complete entries and is handled in line with applicable data protection legislation.
