Blast 5km Series @ The Meadows
The Blast 5km Series @ The Meadows is a monthly timed lunchtime 5K held in The Meadows, Edinburgh. The course starts and finishes at East Meadows Play Park on Melville Drive and is officially measured and licensed; it is described as flat and fast. The event is organised by Blast Running and has a maximum capacity of 250 entrants.
The series is open to runners aged 11 and over. Entry is listed at £7 standard and £10 for non members, with a £3 insurance levy applied to non Scottish Athletics members. Online entries are eligible for prizes awarded to the first male and first female in each age category. Results are submitted to Run Britain Rankings and Scottish Athletics. An optional finisher's medal is available for an additional £5.
The event supports local charities; a property value notes £1 per runner is donated to charity and December’s charity is 500 miles. October donations to a nominated charity totalled £168.
