Westbridge 5
The Westbridge 5 takes place on 07 June 2026 at Girlguiding Stone Headquarters, Westbridge Park, 44 Stafford Road, Stone ST15 8QW. It is a flat and fast multi-terrain race of 5 miles that uses park paths, canal towpaths and nearby roads. The event is part of the North Staffs Road Runners programme and is timed to complement the annual Stone Festival in early June.
The course starts at Westbridge Park near the town centre, runs adjacent to the Trent and Mersey canal south to the village of Aston, then loops back to finish close to the start. Surfaces on the route include playing field, canal towpath, unmade tracks, footpaths, country lanes and a short stretch of trunk road.
Facilities and race details include a bag drop area inside the Girl Guides building that is not a secure unit, no changing or showering facilities so participants should arrive ready to run, and a water station at the finish. Parking is pay and display at Crown Street ST15 8QN (about a five minute walk) and at Morrisons ST15 8BA (about a ten minute walk); machines accept cash, contactless or app payment. Entry is limited to 275 runners; the race has sold out in recent years. There is no cut off time. Prizes include beer to all finishers, podium places for men and women, five year age category prizes, and male and female team prizes with four to qualify. All runners receive a locally produced alcoholic memento with an alternative option available at entry. The event is awaiting UKA licence.
