West Water Tanks, Townsville
Townsville Road Runners and the Townsville Sole Sisters present the West Water Tanks run at Strand Park in Townsville City on 27 June 2026. The event is run on public paths and streets and awards club points.
Two course options are listed:
- Short course - 4.8 km
- Long course - 10.4 km
Both courses start and finish at Strand Park near the Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club and follow the foreshore and nearby streets. The short course follows the promenade and a series of local streets including Howitt Street, Mitchell Street and The Strand promenade to return to Strand Park. The long course follows a more extended loop along The Esplanade, passes two water tanks, ascends sections near Castle Hill Road and the Erythrina track, and returns to the Strand promenade for the finish.
