West Michigan Latino Health 5K Walk/Run
The West Michigan Latino Health 5K Walk/Run is organized by the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is presented as a family-oriented event at Roosevelt Park in Grand Rapids. The event promotes health and wellness with a focus on the Hispanic community, which the organizers note has higher instances of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and strokes attributed in part to poor diets and limited physical activity.
The event features a 3.1 mile walk/run that begins and finishes at Roosevelt Park and includes a post-race finish fest with food, free activities for children, and an awards ceremony. Group pricing is available: groups of four receive a five dollar discount per person when all four register at the same time. Volunteer roles are offered in multiple time slots, and volunteers receive shirts and food.
Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by August 1, 2026; participants aged 13 and older will receive a shirt, while those 12 and under may purchase a shirt and will receive a finishing medal. Packet pick-up details are to be determined; participants must be present to receive their race bib at pick-up. Participants may walk the course but must complete the route within 90 minutes.
