West Lorne Optimist Mother's Day Road Race : event description in English
The event takes place May 10, 2026 at West Lorne Arena, 171 Graham Rd, West Lorne, Ontario. It is presented by the Optimist Club of West Lorne Inc and the Municipality of West Elgin. Proceeds support Optimist Children’s Charities and local youth needs.
The program includes multiple distances and formats: a children's fun run, 5 km and 10 km races, and a 5 km walk. A virtual participant option is offered; t-shirt and medal are not included for virtual entries. All participants receive finisher medals. Registrations completed before April 12 receive a free shirt. The first 50 children in the 1 km fun run receive a free t-shirt supplied on race day.
Timing is electronic using a chip affixed to the race number; participants should not remove, fold, wrinkle, or cover the race number. Race kit pick-up is at West Lorne Arena on the morning of the event. A physical examination is not required; all participants take part at their own risk and should consult a physician if they have any doubt.
