West Island 5K - Fairhaven, Massachusetts
The West Island 5K is an annual community running event scheduled for April 26, 2026 on West Island in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The program includes a main 5K Run/Walk and a separate Kids Mile Fun Run.
The 5K follows a flat loop around West Island with a quick downhill start and an uphill finish. The course is described as family friendly and allows strollers; participants are asked to remain aware of others for safety. Kids participating in the Kids Mile do not receive race shirts; each child receives a special gift.
Registration materials are available in PDF and Word formats. Parking is available at Hoppy’s Landing, which is approximately a half mile from number pick up and the race start, and on nearby West Island side streets; parking on private properties is discouraged. The event is supported by multiple sponsors at different levels.
All proceeds benefit local programs, including the Fairhaven High School Cross Country program, the West Island Improvement Association scholarship fund, and Strive and Achieve.
