West Coast Half Marathon
The West Coast Half Marathon is a point to point road race covering 13.1 miles from Preston Docklands to Fairhaven Lake in Lytham St Annes. The route follows the Guild Wheel corridor west through the Lancashire countryside, passing Freckleton and Warton before reaching the Fylde Coast and finishing beside Fairhaven Lake.
Event headquarters and the main finish area are at Fairhaven Lake. The start is at Preston Docklands on Navigation Way. An official shuttle bus service runs from Fairhaven Lake to the start before the race; there are no shuttle buses from Fairhaven back to Preston after the event. Parking is available around the northern end of the lake, including St Paul’s Avenue Car Park (FY8 1BD), Stanner Bank Car Park and Fairhaven Road Car Park, and at several locations around Preston Riversway Docklands.
Race bib collection is available on the morning of the event at both Fairhaven Event HQ and Preston Docklands. Portable toilets will be provided at both locations. A baggage storage area is available at Fairhaven, and a bag drop at Preston will be transported to the finish. A key drop is provided at Event HQ.
The course has staffed water stations at 3, 6 and 9 miles and water at the finish. Professional medical support will be present. The event is chip timed and official photos are taken around the course and at the finish. Headphones are not permitted. Every finisher receives a medal and individual awards are presented across overall and veteran categories, with prize vouchers emailed to winners.
