West Coast 200
The West Coast 200 is a 200 miles ultramarathon that follows the Wales Coast Path from Portmeirion to St Davids. The route covers mainly coastal terrain with an elevation gain of 27,874 ft and a surface breakdown listed as 80% trail and 20% road.
This is a non stop event with a strict overall cutoff of 120 hours. Runners must reach the 100 mile marker within 55 hours. There are eight aid stations along the course, including three full sleep stations that are optional. Checkpoints are placed at approximately 25 mile intervals and provide warm and cold food and drinks, medical attention, and support for dietary requirements.
Runners may be accompanied by a personal crew or choose to run uncrewed. Each participant is allowed one drop bag that will be transported to every checkpoint. Drop bag limits are 45 cm x 75.5 cm x 45 cm (volume 132 litres); plastic boxes and suitcases are not permitted.
All starters receive a tracker for live online tracking; the tracking link is provided the day before the event. Finishers receive a belt buckle, a map print and a medal. Entry fee is £549 payable via Let’s Do This. Organisers send a runner manual year round and scheduled event communications by email at 8, 4 and 2 weeks before the event plus a pre event phone call.
