Weiser River 50K Ultra & Relay
The event is a point-to-point 50-kilometer race along the Weiser River Trail between Council and Midvale, Idaho, finishing at Midvale Community Park. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 50k Relay
- Adaptive Athletes
The trail follows a converted railroad bed designated as a National Recreation Trail. Surfaces include stony railroad ballast, dirt, and some paved crossings near towns. The route runs alongside the Weiser River through canyons and across open farmland and has very little elevation change. Organizers describe the course as downhill and as suitable for early season racing.
Runner classifications for the Ultra require a minimum age of 18 and include Men 18-54, Women 18-54, Seniors age 55 and over, and Adaptive Athlete (any gender, all ages). There are no cancellation refunds; runners may roll their entry to the next year by contacting the race director.
Aid stations also serve as relay exchange points and are spaced as follows by leg:
- Council to Mesa Siding: 6.1 miles
- Mesa Siding to Goodrich: 6.9 miles
- Goodrich to Cambridge: 9.1 miles
- Cambridge to Shoepeg: 5.0 miles
- Shoepeg to Midvale: 4.1 miles
A shuttle will run from Midvale to Council on race morning for solo runners only; there is no return shuttle from the finish to the start after the event.
