Weiser River 50K Ultra & Relay

The event is a point-to-point race covering 50 kilometers (31.07 miles) along the Weiser River Trail, a converted railroad bed designated as a National Recreation Trail. The route goes from Council to Midvale, Idaho, following the Weiser River through canyons and open farmland. The trail surface consists of stony railroad ballast, dirt, and some paved crossings near towns, with very little elevation change.

The event offers two formats:

  • A 50K solo ultra.
  • A 50K relay for teams of 2 to 5 people.

Relay legs and distances are:

  • Leg 1: Council to Mesa Siding – 6.1 miles
  • Leg 2: Mesa Siding to Goodrich – 6.9 miles
  • Leg 3: Goodrich to Cambridge – 9.1 miles
  • Leg 4: Cambridge to Shoepeg – 5 miles
  • Leg 5: Shoepeg to Midvale – 4.1 miles

A shuttle bus for solo runners will depart from the finish line in Midvale. All participants and volunteers receive a post-race meal with their registration. Solo runners may transfer their entry to the next year or to a relay team. The relay has a cutoff; runners must reach the final aid station at Shoepeg by 2:30 PM, with an early start option available at 7:00 AM for those who request it. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
