Event overview
The WeCare-Mother's Day 5K takes place on May 10, 2026 in Brookfield, Connecticut at Brookfield High School (45 Long Meadow Hill Road). The race is presented by Brookfield High School's National Honor Society and is the 14th annual running of this event. The course is a certified 5K USATF route and will use chip timing. The first 100 registrants receive T-shirts. The event offers refreshments and awards. The race beneficiary is to be announced in the spring.
Registration, course and awards
Online registration is listed at $30 per person; an online price listing shows $32.80 including a $2.80 fee. Registration allows up to 10 runners to be entered together to save on processing fees, and in-person race-day registration is available for a higher fee. Teams are welcome but are not eligible for individual awards.
Trophies are awarded to first-place teams in the categories Mother/Daughter, Grandmother/Granddaughter, Mother/Son, and Grandmother/Grandson. Individual overall awards are given for first-place female and first-place male. Ribbons are awarded 1st–3rd place male and female in nine age groups: 8 and under; 9-13; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79. The course route begins and ends at Brookfield High School and follows Long Meadow Hill Road to Hop Brook Road (cone turnaround) and back.
