Event overview
The Loch Leven Half Marathon is a road race held annually in May around the shores of Loch Leven in Kinross-shire. The Half marathon starts at the bottom of Kinross, runs on closed roads around Loch Leven and finishes in the grounds of Kinross High School at the top of the town. The 2026 date is listed as 10th May. The event notes support from the local community, volunteers and runners.
Prizes and charity
Prizes are offered in all runner categories and there is a team prize for ladies and men. A prize of £250 is awarded to any runner who breaks the male or female course record. The course records are: male 1:05:45 (1992) and female 1:17:39 (1999). In 2024 participants donated £1,035 to TRACKS (The Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire). For 2025, entrants will be given the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to TRACKS (Scottish Charity Registration Number SC030183) to improve local pathways, including the trail around Loch Leven. Race sponsors include Webster, Stewart and Smart Motor Engineers, Sandy Baird Refrigeration, Kipper Hire, Koronka Manufacturing, Exporta Global, Studio LBA, Todd & Duncan and Tri.Fit Kinross.
