Webster Loch Leven Half Marathon
The Webster Loch Leven Half Marathon is an annual event held in May. The race takes place in Kinross-shire and follows a route around the shores of Loch Leven. The course is set on closed roads, providing a dedicated environment for participants as they navigate the scenic landscape.
The event features a single distance:
- Half Marathon
The race begins at the southern end of Kinross and concludes at Kinross High School, located at the top of the town. This point-to-point layout covers a full loop of the local loch before reaching the finish line grounds.
Organizers offer prizes across all runner categories. There are specific awards for the fastest men's and women's teams. Additionally, a financial prize is available for any participant who sets a new male or female course record. The current long-standing records were established in 1992 and 1999 respectively.
The event supports local infrastructure through voluntary donations. Participants have the option to contribute to TRACKS (The Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire). These funds are utilized to maintain and improve local pathways and trails in the area, including the popular trail surrounding the loch.
