Course, entry and categories
The main race distance is 4 km (2.5 miles) with a total climb of 120 m (394 ft). Minimum age for the main fell race is 12. U18 is the only junior category for the main event due to low entry numbers. Junior races on the showground are organised by age group:
- 4-6 year olds: 1 length of the Main Show Ring (approx 50 m)
- 7-9 year olds: 4 lengths
- 10-12 year olds: 6 lengths
Entry on the day is available at the secretaries tent; there is no pre-entry. Entry-on-the-day fee is £2.00. Team entries are not allowed. The race has a permit and UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
