Weardale Agricultural Show Fell Race
The event is a short fell race held on the Show Field at St John's Chapel, England, in the Northumberland / Durham region. The course covers 4 km (2.5 miles) with approximately 120 m (394 ft) of ascent and uses a slightly longer route than previous years; records refer to the 2025 results.
The start line is located outside the Secretaries Tent on the showfield. Minimum entry age for the main fell race is 12, and the under 18 category is the only junior category for the main race due to low entry numbers. A set of separate junior races is organised on the Main Show Ring with the following approximate lengths: children aged 4 to 6 run one lap (about 50 metres), aged 7 to 9 run four laps, and aged 10 to 12 run six laps.
Entry on the day is accepted at the secretaries tent. There is no pre-entry option; the entry on the day fee is £2.00. Teams are not permitted. The race holds a permit and carries UK Athletics insurance through the Fell Runners Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
