Event Details
The 5K awards include hand-painted ceramic medallions. Awards are given for top overall, top masters, and age groups from 9 and under up to 75-79. The 1 Mile Run awards top male/female and age group winners (5-7, 8-10, 11-13).
A school competition called the Scoop and Scurry School Competition is held for K-5 students from specific local schools. The event has a policy that strollers are welcome and discourages dogs on the course, except for service dogs. It takes place rain or shine, with no refunds for cancellation due to severe weather.
Registration and Logistics
Packet pick-up is available on April 30th and May 1st at Trak Shak Homewood and on race morning near Manhattan Street. Race day registration is also available. Credit card payments are accepted; cash is not. Employees and students of Homewood City Schools receive a discount for the 5K. The deadline for a guaranteed race t-shirt is Friday, April 17th.
