Event overview
We Crawl This Town takes place on June 13, 2026 at Institution Ale Company in Camarillo, CA (3841 Mission Oaks Blvd, 93012). The weekend includes two separate events: a 5K and a 4-person Beer Mile Relay. The 5K starts and finishes at the brewery and uses a largely flat course with a significant portion on a bike path that overlooks the Calleguas Creek. The event offers post-race beer sampling, discounted food, music, a finisher award, water, and a post-race snack. Non-alcoholic beer and root beer are available for the pre-race toast for those who wish to participate but do not drink or are under 21.
Race formats and rules
- 5K - flat course starting and finishing at the brewery.
- 4-person Beer Mile Relay - teams of 4; each runner drinks a 12 oz beer, runs 1 mile, then drinks another 12 oz beer before handing off.
All relay team members must be 21 or older. Beer for the relay is supplied by Institution Ale Company; no outside beer is allowed. Each team uses an "anything but a baton" item that carries the timing chip. Beer consumed for the pre-run toast or relay must be consumed in the designated patio area before exiting. Penalties include a 1 minute penalty for vomiting inside the patio or parking lot and a 1 minute penalty for running through the patio walk-only zone.
Logistics
Check-in and packet pickup occur at Institution Ale Company where runners collect bibs, shirts, and drink tokens (tokens are for participants 21+). Finishers receive awards upon completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
