Event Overview
The WCEG 17th Annual 5K Ridge Run is organized by the Women’s Club of East Granby. The event offers a single 5K distance for running or walking. The course begins and ends at East Granby Farms in East Granby, Connecticut.
Course Details
The 3.1-mile route starts at the North Entrance parking lot of East Granby Farms. It heads north on Route 187N to High Farm Road, continues to Austin Brook Drive for a turnaround, and returns south on Route 187. The finish is via an off-road grassy path near a painted silo. Route 187 is closed from 9:45 AM to 11:15 AM on race day. The course features views of rolling meadows and the Metacomet Ridge.
Participant Information
A dri-fit shirt is free for those who register before April 11. Registration fees are listed as $39.72 for the 5K and $28.98 for participants 17 years and younger. The event includes an awards ceremony with cash prizes for the fastest male and female runners, and medals for the top three in various age categories.
Post-Race Activities
After the race, a healthy snack is provided. Activities from 10 AM to 12 PM include complimentary chair massages by Little Bird Wellness, energy samples by Everlasting Nutrition, and the awards ceremony.
