WAYS Race to Independence 5K
The WAYS Race to Independence is an athletic event held at the Space Coast Field of Dreams Park in West Melbourne, Florida. This event serves as a fundraiser for WAYS (Wraparound Youth Services) for Life. This organization supports youth in Brevard County between the ages of 15 and 25, specifically focusing on those transitioning out of the foster care system or experiencing homelessness.
The event offers a single distance for participants:
- 5K Run/Walk
The course is located at 3053 Fell Road. Participants who register early may receive a complimentary race t-shirt, which is available to the first 150 individuals who sign up. Logistics for the event include early packet pickup and registration on the day prior to the race at a local running store, as well as on-site pickup options on the morning of the event.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in the Masters category for those aged 40 and older. Recognition is also given to the top three male and female finishers across various age groups, ranging from 13 and under to 70 and up.
