The WAYS Race to Independence is a 5K run/walk held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in West Melbourne, Florida. The event takes place at Space Coast Field of Dreams Park, 3053 Fell Rd, West Melbourne, FL 32904. Proceeds benefit WAYS (Wraparound Youth Services) for Life, which serves youth in Brevard County ages 15-25 with services including case management, mental health, food services, identification assistance, legal support, career pathways, secondary education, life skills programming, and an on-site GED FastTrack.

Logistics and details

Registration fees are listed as $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under; fees increase after March 27, 2026. Early packet pickup and registration are available the day before at Running Zone (3696 N. Wickham Rd). Packet pickup is also available at the event venue on race day. The first 150 registrants receive a free race T-shirt. Awards include top three overall male and female, top masters male and female (40+), top three male and female in each age group (13 & under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 & up), and recognition for the largest team.
