Event information
The WAYS Race to Independence is a 5K run/walk scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, in West Melbourne, Florida. The event takes place at Space Coast Field of Dreams Park, 3053 Fell Rd, West Melbourne, FL 32904. The race benefits WAYS (Wraparound Youth Services) for Life, which serves Brevard County youth ages 15-25 with services such as case management, mental health support, food services, identification assistance, legal help, career pathways, secondary education support, life skills programming, and a GED FastTrack on site. An awards ceremony will follow the race.
Logistics, fees, and extras
Early packet pickup and registration are offered the day before at Running Zone (3696 N. Wickham Rd). Race-day registration and packet pickup are available at the park. Fees through March 27 are listed as: Adult $35 and Child (12 & under) $25; race-day fees increase to Adult $40 and Child $30. The first 150 registrants receive a free race T-shirt. Awards include top three overall male and female, top masters (40+), top three male and female in standard age groups, and recognition for the largest team.
