WAYS Race to Independence 5K
The event is a charity Run/Walk of 5K held on March 27, 2027, at Space Coast Field of Dreams Park, 3053 Fell Rd, West Melbourne, FL 32904. Proceeds benefit WAYS (Wraparound Youth Services) for Life, which supports Brevard County youth ages 15 to 25 who are aging out of foster care, experiencing homelessness, or unaccompanied. The organization provides case management, mental health services, food services, identification assistance, legal support, career pathways, secondary education support, life skills programming, and an on site GED FastTrack.
Registration opens August 1, 2026 and closes March 26, 2027. Fees listed before race day are $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under; race day fees increase to $40 for adults and $30 for children. The first 150 registrants receive a free race T-shirt.
Packet pickup and early registration are available the day before at Running Zone, 3696 N. Wickham Rd. Race day registration and packet pickup are at Space Coast Field of Dreams Park. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers, top masters male and female (40 and over), top three male and female finishers in standard age groups, and recognition for the largest team.
