Event overview
The WAYNE ROTARY 5K takes place on May 30, 2026 in Wayne, New Jersey. It is the ninth annual running of this 5-kilometer race organized by the Wayne Rotary Club-Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. A portion of event proceeds will be allocated to support Wayne area high school running programs; teams must participate in the event to be eligible for an endowment. The race uses Our Lady of the Valley Church as its venue and the course is USATF certified and described as flat.
Competition, logistics and awards
The race includes a single distance: 5K. Registration listed a base price of $30 with a later price increase scheduled after December 31, 2025. USATF Coed Team Championship status is associated with the event as a wildcard scoring event; full 2026 status is pending. Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and for the top three Wayne high school student male and female finishers. Medals (first, second, third) are awarded in male and female age groups from 14 & under through 90 plus in multi-year brackets. Coed team prize money accrues by $2 per participant registration, with awards for the top six coed teams and a stated minimum prize pool of $400 for 2026. Race-day bib and tee pickup occurs at the venue on race morning. Organized group runs meet at the back left corner of the OLV parking lot with separate pace groups and participants are advised that streets will not be closed.
