Event Overview
The WaunaFest Run is an annual community sports event held in Waunakee, Wisconsin. The event features several participation options starting and ending near the Waunakee Village Center and Village Park. Participants navigate through surrounding neighborhoods before reaching the finish line in a scenic park setting.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10 Mile Run (Ted Tweed 10 Mile)
- 5K Run
- 2 Mile Walk
- Kiddie Run (Ages 8 and under)
Course and Participation Details
The courses for all participants wind through local residential areas. The 2 Mile Walk is a stroller-friendly route designed for those who prefer a walking pace. For the youngest participants, the Kiddie Run takes place around a baseball field behind the Village Center. Children are grouped into waves based on their age, with distances covering 800 yards or less. Participation for the kiddie event is limited to the first 250 registered children.
Due to road construction, the routes may differ from previous years. Organizers coordinate with local authorities to finalize the paths. After completing their respective distances, participants gather in Village Park for a post-run celebration and an awards ceremony.
Registration and Logistics
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Waunakee Village Center, with an additional window for same-day registration and pickup on the morning of the event. While registration remains open until the day of the race for the Kiddie Run, other distances have earlier registration deadlines. Participants who register by mid-July are eligible to receive an event t-shirt. For the kids' event, goodie bags are distributed exclusively during the Friday packet pickup window.
