Waun Fach Fell Race
The event is an 11.2 km race with approximately 610 m of ascent (7 miles / 2000 ft) taking place on Sunday 6th September 2026. Event headquarters are at the Dinas Castle Inn, Pengenffordd, Talgarth, Powys LD3 0EP. The race has a limit of 130 entries.
Entry is for over 18s. Standard entry is £12. Limited on-the-day entries are available and the on-the-day fee is £15 cash. Participants should not use the pub car park; parking will be signed from the pub and a nearby field is used for car parking.
The route follows a classic horseshoe over Waun Fach, mainly on defined and improved paths and gravel tracks. The course runs up from the pub along tracks and paths over Rhiw Trumau on McNamara's Road to the col at 617, then via Pen Trumau to the broad ridge up to Waun Fach. From the summit the route continues on improved paths and the former grassy eroded path to Pen Y Manllwyn, then descends west along the Dragons Back Y Grib before finishing with a final climb to Castell Dinas.
Course safety and support include three hill marshals on the route and first aid cover. A maprun variant uses the same course for solo or pair efforts with automatic timing and result submission.
