Watermelon Run
The Watermelon Run is part of the Lawrence Ox Roast on Labor Day weekend in Lawrence, Michigan. Races take place in the town center with event activities at the Van Buren Conference Center, 490 S Paw Paw St, Lawrence, MI 49064.
Distances offered
- 5K (3.1 miles) road course
- 10K (6.2 miles) road course
- 15K (9.3 miles) road course
The courses are USATF certified. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, for both genders, in each event. Trophies are awarded to the finalists in each race for both genders.
Registration opens March 13, 2026 and closes May 18, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25.00 per event. Giveaway T-shirts are available only to registrants who registered during the giveaway period; the T-shirt giveaway period ends July 5.
Sign in and bib pick up occur the morning of the race at the Van Buren Conference Center. After the races organizers serve fresh watermelon. Registration includes one pancake and sausage breakfast ticket for the Lawrence Fire Department breakfast at 205 N Paw Paw St, Lawrence, MI 49064; additional breakfast tickets are available by donation.
