50th annual Waterloo 10 KM Classic
The event marks the 50th annual running of the Waterloo 10 KM Classic and takes place across a weekend in June 2027 in Conestogo, Ontario. The event includes two combined challenges: the Big Dipper (5 km plus 10 km, 15 total kilometres) and the Little Dipper (5 km plus 3 km, 8 total kilometres). Every finisher receives a finisher medal; all participants receive the spinner medal and Dipper participants receive an additional glow-in-the-dark medal. Technical t-shirts are available for purchase during registration while supplies last; stickers are distributed at kit pickup on a first-come basis.
Race courses will be marshaled and signed but are subject to municipal approval and may change. Participants are responsible for knowing the route. A time limit of 10 minutes per kilometre is applied; participants who fall behind a calculated cutoff may be asked to move to the sidewalk and finish without race support. Kit pickup is scheduled at multiple sessions including Runners' Choice Waterloo and other locations to be announced.
Refunds are not available; deferrals and transfers are described in the registration waiver. The event sold out at 2,000 participants in 2026 and organizers are exploring options to expand the field for 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
