Washington Parish Fair 5K
The Washington Parish Fair 5K is a chip timed road race held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, that starts and finishes near the Souvenir Booth inside the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. The course runs briefly through the town of Franklinton before returning through the fairgrounds and finishes after crossing the bridge over Mile Branch.
The published course follows these streets and landmarks: exit the fairgrounds through the main gate and turn left onto Bene Street, turn right onto 10th Avenue and proceed nearly its full length with a turnaround just before Dobson Street, return along 10th Avenue, cross Bene Street and continue onto East Fairgrounds Road to its end and turn around, then reenter the fairgrounds by turning right just before the rodeo arena and follow the marked route through the fairgrounds to the finish. Roads along the route will remain open to vehicle traffic; law enforcement will staff main crossings and yard signs will mark turns.
Entry is limited to 300 runners and walkers. Registration fees are $40 if received by October 1 and $55 for late registration from October 2 through October 16; a T shirt is guaranteed only for registrations completed by October 16. There is no day of registration. Race day packet pickup will be available and organizers plan a bib and shirt pickup before the fair. Awards include medals for overall male and female finishers and first and second place in multiple age groups. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable.
