Warrior Way 5K
The Warrior Way 5K is a student-organized trail event held on September 27, 2026 at George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. The Student Council hosts the race on school property surrounded by pine forest and overlooking Lake Tahoe.
The course follows trails that cross creeks and logs and passes among trees, rocks, and wildlife. The event includes on-course elements that make the route uneven and natural; the trail is not stroller friendly unless a team carries a stroller through wooded sections. Pets are not allowed on school property.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K trail run
- 800 m Warrior Dash Fun Run for children, with popsicles for fun run finishers and a fun prize for participants
Finishers receive medals and hot chocolate is available. T-shirts are sold separately through the event website and were designed by students. The Student Council accepts sponsor support, including sponsor tents with proceeds designated for a student class fundraiser.
The event is scheduled to proceed regardless of weather, with no refunds listed; participants are welcome to use snow shoes if conditions require them. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
