Warrington Way 40-mile Ultra
The Warrington Way is a 40-mile ultramarathon trail race that starts and finishes in the Cheshire village of Lymm. Runners follow a predominantly trail-based route on tracks, footpaths, field crossings and country lanes to circumnavigate the town of Warrington anticlockwise.
The route is waymarked, but competitors are required to carry maps and be able to navigate. There are well stocked checkpoints at approximately the 10, 21 and 30 mile points. A hot meal is provided at the finish for all runners, and finishers receive a medal and may receive the event technical T-shirt if ordered in advance.
The event is club organised, UK Athletics registered, and licensed by the Trail Running Association, with oversight from Warrington Borough Council. The 2026 race will take place on Saturday 14 November. Entries open at 09:00 on 1 May 2026 and the event has a total of 350 places available for solo, pair and relay entries.
