Warrington Way 40 mile Ultra
The Warrington Way is a 40 mile ultramarathon trail race that starts and finishes in the Cheshire village of Lymm. The course circumnavigates the town of Warrington in an anticlockwise direction and follows predominantly trail surfaces, including tracks, footpaths, field crossings and country lanes. The route is waymarked with markers, but runners are expected to carry maps and navigate for themselves.
There are well stocked checkpoints located at approximately the 10, 21 and 30 mile points. A hot meal is provided at the finish for all runners. Finishers receive a medal and may obtain the Warrington Way technical T shirt if it is ordered in advance.
The event is organised by a local club, is UK Athletics registered and is licensed by the Trail Running Association. Oversight is provided by Warrington Borough Council.
The race date is Saturday 14 November 2026. Entry formats and distances include:
- Solo: 40 miles
- Pair: each runner completes 20 miles
- 4 person relay: each runner completes one 10 mile stage
Entries open on 1 May 2026 and there are 350 places in total for solo, pair or relay entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
