Walter Raleigh Round Half Marathon
The Walter Raleigh Round Half Marathon is a scenic 13.6-mile race starting and finishing in Budleigh Salterton, England, tracing the childhood countryside of Sir Walter Raleigh. The course features quiet back lanes, unsurfaced county roads, footpaths, the Otter Valley, High Peak, the Jurassic Coast, and a dismantled railway, offering a challenging route with mud and hills. A shorter Third Marathon option covers 8.5 miles, avoiding the biggest hill and coastal section.
The event includes fully marked routes, marshalls, aid stations, first aid, and a unique solid oak coaster finisher’s memento. Participants can run or walk, with an optional 16th-century fancy dress theme enhancing the atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
