Crediton Crunch 10K - Crediton, Devon
The Crediton Crunch is a multi-terrain run held in Crediton, Devon, with a course of approximately 10 km. Race headquarters are at Queen Elizabeth School, Barnfield Site, EX17 3HX. The event is part of the INSTEP Devon race series.
The route is about 90% off road and uses public footpaths, mowed grassland, private farmland and quiet country roads. Some sections cross private land and are not accessible before race day. The course is signposted with direction arrows and features distance markers in kilometres. The route follows school fields, rural footpaths beside the River Yeo, lanes near Salmonhutch and Uton Barton, farm tracks and a climb known as Breakheart hill before returning to the school field for the finish.
Event support includes marshals provided by Crediton Running Network and Ernest Jackson. There is a water station at 5 km and another at the finish; this is a cup-less event so participants should bring their own bottle or cup. Trail shoes are recommended because the terrain can be muddy and slippery. Headphones are not permitted during the race.
Prizes are given to the first three male and female finishers and recognitions in age categories V40, V50, V60 and V70 plus. All participants receive a race medal and a goody bag; spot prizes are drawn using BIB numbers and there is a best-fancy-dress trophy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
