Walter Hunt 4th of July 3K Road Race
The Walter Hunt 4th of July 3K Road Race is the 45th annual running of a road race held on July 4, 2026. The course starts at Brewer Auditorium on Wilson Street in Brewer and finishes at Pickering Square Parking Garage in Bangor. The route runs along the 4th of July parade route and takes place about 15 minutes before the Brewer-Bangor parade.
The event distance is 3K. Online registration opens May 9, 2026 at 08:00 and closes June 30, 2026 at 23:59. The published registration fee is $15. Race day registration is available at Brewer Auditorium for $25; race day registration is cash or check only. Team registration pricing on race day is $75. Bib pick-up for pre-registered runners and race day registration are at Brewer Auditorium from 8:00 to 9:05 AM; bib pick-up and registration close at 9:05 AM.
Race registration is free for Sub5 track club members with current membership standing; members must register membership in advance and use the Runsignup login to receive the online discount. A tech participant shirt is available as an add-on for $10. Water and post race snacks are available at the finish.
Participant restrictions: runners with earbuds or dogs are not allowed. Strollers are allowed but must start behind other runners.
