Walsh Two Lads Fell Race : Horwich
The Walsh Two Lads Fell Race is a Category B short fell race held near Horwich in the South/West Pennines on 11 June 2026. The course covers 8.4 km with approximately 274 m of ascent. The route starts at the side of the Bridge Inn in Horwich, climbs onto the Pennines and proceeds to Two Lads before a final descent back to the start.
Registration and the prize presentation take place at The Ale House, 36 Church St, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6AD. Entry is available by pre-entry via madbullevents for £8 and on-the-day for £10. Teams of three are permitted. Minimum age is 16 and there are no junior races.
The event holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female, male and female veteran categories, and for the biggest club turnout. Course records are listed as 00:30:24 (male, 2021) and 00:35:06 (female, 2022); a cash prize of £50 is offered for a new male or female course record.
