Walnut 5K Run/Walk for ALS
The event is a community 5K held in Walnut, Illinois at 323 S Main St. The starting line is in front of Bureau Valley Elementary Walnut Campus. Check in is located at the park tent south of the school.
The event program includes a chip timed 5K run/walk, a wheelchair division for participants pushing a stroller or wheelchair, and a T shirt only non participant option. Entry fee is listed as $20.00 and a guaranteed T shirt is available for registrations received by Friday, June 26. Registration opens earlier in the year and closes before race day for the respective divisions.
Course and services are described as an accurately measured 3.1 miles with a gun start, mile marker clocks, an aid station, traffic control, and refreshments. Timing and computerized results are provided by a timing company and results are posted after the race. Awards include trophies for overall male and female places, special trophies for the first male and female Walnut finishers, cash prizes for top overall finishers, and medals for age group places across multiple age brackets.
Additional on site amenities include restroom facilities and a locker room with showers. No pets or bicycles are allowed at the event.
