Wallowa Skyrace - June 26, 2026
The Wallowa Skyrace is a mountain running event held at the Wallowa Lake Tramway in Joseph, Oregon. The course climbs approximately 3,700 feet over 4.2 miles from Wallowa Lake to the summit of Mt Howard. After reaching the top, participants descend using the tram.
This is the third edition of the event. The Mountain Runners operate under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The field size is limited.
Registration is open in tiers: $90 for Early Bird through December 31, 2025; $100 through April 30, 2026; and $110 until registration closes on June 18, 2026. Registration fees include the tram ride down, a finisher medal, and postrace goodies. Race shirts are available for an additional fee.
Race day packet pickup takes place at the Wallowa Lake Tramway location. Every participant receives a finisher medal; awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers. A $200 prize is offered to any participant who breaks the existing course record.
