Wallowa Skyrace : Joseph, Oregon
The Wallowa Skyrace is a mountain running event that starts at the Wallowa Lake Tramway and finishes near the summit area of Mount Howard. The course gains 3,700 feet of elevation over 4.2 Miles, and the route offers views of the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The organizer operates under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
Registration has tiered pricing: $90 for Early Bird through December 31, 2025, $100 through April 30, 2026, and $110 through the registration close on June 18, 2026. Registration includes the tram ride down, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Shirts are available for purchase for an additional $30. The event limits the number of participants.
Packet pickup is handled at the race start location on race day. Every participant receives a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers. A $200 prize is offered to any participant who breaks the existing course record.
