The event takes place in Joseph City Park in Joseph, Oregon, and is organized by Runners of the Sage under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The organizer is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.

Registration pricing varies by distance and registration date. Half marathon pre-registration includes a tri blend t-shirt for those who register early. Early bird prices apply through December 31; regular and late online pricing apply through April 30 and until online registration closes on May 14. Day of race registration is available at a higher fee and may not include a shirt for shorter distances.
Packet pickup is available at Quickhatch in Joseph on May 22 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and at Joseph City Park the morning of the event starting at 6:30 AM. Day of registrants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before the event for processing.
The half marathon is an out and back course that climbs from about 4,200 ft to roughly 5,100 ft. The first 3 miles and last 3 miles are paved, with approximately 6 miles of maintained dirt road in between. Aid stations are located near mile 3, near mile 10, and at the Hurricane Creek Trailhead around mile 6.5. The route offers views of the Wallowa Mountains, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Seven Devils, and surrounding valleys.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers for the Half, 5 Mile, and 5K. Each participant receives a finisher medal. Weather at this time of year can be variable; participants are advised to prepare for rain, sun, wind, or snow. The event coincides with the Wallowa County Farmers Market kickoff and supports the market. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
