Wallis Sands Half Marathon

The Wallis Sands Half Marathon takes place in Rye, New Hampshire, offering a course that follows the scenic Seacoast and travels through the town center. The event features multiple ways to participate:

  • 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
  • Plogging (Jogging while picking up litter)
  • Virtual Half Marathon

The 13.1 mile route is a flat loop that begins in the Wallis Sands State Park parking lot. Participants run in a clockwise direction, moving south along Route 1A for several miles adjacent to the coast. The course then turns inland and heads north through downtown Rye before returning to Route 1A. The final segment travels south along the coastline again to conclude inside Wallis Sands State Park.

In addition to the traditional running race, a plogging option is available, which combines jogging with the action of picking up litter. This activity incorporates movements such as bending, squatting, and stretching. Those unable to attend in person can participate in a virtual version of the half marathon, which can be completed at any location during the month of April.

Post-event activities located at the finish area include a barbecue and music. Registration for the event is limited to a specific number of participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
