Walla Walla 6 Hour
The Walla Walla 6 Hour is a women only timed trail event held on the Whitetail Trail around Bennington Lake. The course follows a 5 mile outer loop around the lake, mostly double track with some single track sections, and about 370 ft of elevation gain per loop.
Aid station provisions include standard endurance fare such as potato chips, gels, gummies, and some additional items like peanut butter and pickle wraps. Aid station food is served individually rather than from communal bowls. An electrolyte drink brand is provided at the aid station.
Participants who run or hike the full six hours receive a Trail Sisters trucker hat. Raffle tickets are distributed and the woman who completes the most loops during the six hours receives a local gift basket; in the event of a tie, the runner who crosses the finish line first is awarded the basket.
The event limits field size to 130 runners and offers tiered registration pricing with an early-bird period through December 11. Refund policy: 50 percent refund available by January 31, no refunds on or after February 1. Per permit rules, pacers are not allowed to give aid outside the aid station; friends and family may be on open trails to cheer. Dogs are not permitted on course with runners and are allowed at start and finish on leash.
The organizer notes the importance of local Indigenous history and references the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute as a resource about the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
