Walk4PICS 5k Run : 1st Annual event in Mount Juliet, TN
The Walk4PICS 5k Run is the first annual event to raise awareness of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS). It is scheduled for September 26, 2026, in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, at 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway. The event brings together ICU survivors, family members, medical providers, and other supporters.
PICS refers to the physical, cognitive and emotional challenges that many ICU survivors and their families face long-term after critical illness. The event summary notes that about 80 percent of the roughly five million people admitted to an ICU each year in the United States survive, and that at least one third of those survivors are affected by PICS. The organizers state that funds raised will support awareness efforts and assistance for ICU survivors locally and globally, including support groups, advocacy and education, and research into best practices in critical care survivorship.
Two participation options are offered:
- 5 km in-person Run/Walk
- 5 km Virtual Run/Walk
Registration fee is listed at $20. Registration for the in-person event opens April 22, 2026 and closes May 14, 2026. Registration for the virtual option opens April 22, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
