MLE's 15th Annual Walk With Me & 5K
MLE's 15th Annual Walk With Me & 5K is a community event in Miami, FL that takes place on March 15, 2026 at Tropical Park Shelter #10. The program includes a 5K run, a walk, and a Sleep Walk that accepts donations. The event has expanded to include a 5K route, food trucks, games, and other activities.
Since its start in 2012 the event has grown to attract more than 1,000 participants annually and has raised over $40,000 for the Miami Learning Experience School. Funds have supported new technology, after school programs, and the creation of a dedicated walking path, among other resources for students. The walk also engages Student Ambassadors from more than ten local schools to build involvement and leadership. The stated mission is to create an atmosphere of support for students and adults with special needs by maximizing community building and spreading awareness. The stated vision is for the event to grow in school participation and to become recognized for creating meaningful awareness and support for people with special needs and their families.
