MLE's 16th Annual Walk With Me
The event on 03/13/2027 at 5651 SW 82nd Avenue Road in Miami, FL supports the Miami Learning Experience School. The program includes a 1 mile walking event and a donation option called Sleep Walk; both have a stated registration fee of $30.
Walk With Me began in 2011 and has grown to draw more than 1,000 participants in a typical year and to generate upwards of $40,000. Funds raised have supported new technology, after-school programs, the creation of a dedicated walking path, and other resources for MLE students.
Recent editions expanded the format to include a 5K route in addition to the shorter walk, and to offer food trucks, games, and activities. The event also aims to develop student leadership: Student Ambassadors from more than ten local schools participate to increase awareness and community involvement.
The event mission is to create an atmosphere of broad support for students and adults with special needs by building community and spreading awareness. The vision emphasizes growing school participation and recognition so the event continues to provide meaningful awareness and support for people with special needs and their families.
