This inaugural 5K run and walk supports youth mentoring programs and takes place on a two-loop course in Winston-Salem's Quarry Park. A Kids Fun Run is also part of the event. Participants can pick up their race packets the day before or on the morning of the race.

Walk to SOAR 5K

The Walk to SOAR 5K is an inaugural running and walking event taking place on Saturday, May 30, 2026. It is held at Quarry Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The event benefits EAGLES of Grace Inc., a faith-based mentoring and educational program for youth and young adults.

The main event is a 5K distance, open to both walkers and runners. The course within Quarry Park consists of two loops, starting and finishing near the overlook pier. Participants pass through the finish area halfway through the race and again at the end. A Kids Fun Run is also offered.

Packet pickup is available at two locations:

On Friday before the race at Brown and Douglas Rec Center (4725 Indiana Ave, Winston-Salem).
On race day at Quarry Park between 7:30 AM and 8:45 AM.

The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine, with rescheduling only in the case of severe weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
