Mistletoe Run
The Mistletoe Run is an annual community event held at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This long-standing event features a half marathon, a 5K run, and a 1 mile fun run. The courses are USATF sanctioned, catering to both experienced racers and those participating in their first athletic event.
Participants in the 5K and half marathon receive finisher medals upon crossing the finish line. Every registered participant is provided with a race shirt. The event includes several activities and amenities beyond the races, including:
- Half marathon
- 5K run
- 1 mile fun run
Post-race festivities feature music, donuts at the finish line, and appearances by community mascots and cheerleaders. Families can also make use of designated entertainment areas, such as bounce houses.
This event serves as the largest fundraiser for the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. Proceeds are used to provide financial assistance and funding for local youth programming, including summer camps, swim lessons, and before and after school care. The event typically takes place on the first Saturday in December, marking the start of the holiday season for the local community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
