Waldoboro Half Marathon
The Waldoboro Half Marathon takes place in Waldoboro, Maine on September 19, 2026. The road race is 13.1 miles and is routed so it does not cross Route 1.
The course packs about 1,400 feet of total elevation gain across 13.1 miles, including roughly 550 feet in the final 3.5 miles. Organizers note seven hills with a gradient of at least 10 percent, including two in the final mile, and that about 45 percent of the course is uphill. The event follows a "No Frills. Just Hills." approach with no course bands, no expo, and no official water stations.
There is a qualifying standard to enter: a half marathon of 2:15:00 or faster within the last two years, or equivalent recent results at other distances (for example 15 miles 2:35:00, 30K 3:20:00, 20 miles 3:35:00, marathon 4:40:00). Previous finishers are automatically qualified. Race day registration is allowed only for previously qualified entrants who have earned a black bib.
Finishers receive a finisher's medal and shirt and are offered a beer from Odd Alewives Farm Brewery at the finish. Winners receive a prize gift card from Moody's Diner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
