Wakefield Turkey Trot
The Wakefield Track and Field Boosters host an annual community Turkey Trot around Lake Quannapowitt on Thanksgiving morning. The event includes a timed 5K and a kids' fun mile for ages 10 and under. All proceeds support the Wakefield Memorial High School cross country and track and field programs.

The event program lists a kids' fun run, a costume contest, a pre-race warm up, and a timed 5K. Participants are asked to bring reusable water bottles; a town water truck will be available for refills. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for athletes registered by October 18th. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place runners in each age group.
Registration details provided by the organizer show fees of $40.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the kid's run, with registration opening dates of July 17, 2026 for the 5K and August 17, 2026 for the kid's run, and a common registration close on November 25, 2026.
